On to the next big adventure – NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month

Hello My Beautiful You Friends,

Has anyone done this before?  NaNoWriMo is a national organization where writers—newbies, intermediates, and professionals come together in a forum and challenge themselves to write 50,000 words from November 1st to November 30th.

I have a girlfriend who’s been participating for at least the last three years and every year I get so excited for her and she says, “You should do it?” and I always have an excuse.

Well, this year there are no excuses, I’m signing up and doing it.  We figure we have to write about 1,700 words a day, or about 7 pages double spaced with a one inch margin all around.  Can you say, ‘excitedly freaked?’  That’s how I feel about this.  Just coming off the high of completing the zero/first draft of a manuscript I’ve been working on since at least April of 2013, I’m wondering if I’m crazy to do this.  Shouldn’t I be re-writing my other manuscript and getting it out there???  Shouldn’t I be tutoring?  Starting up my Beautiful You class again, building more clientele, writing up flyers and brochures and getting the word out…?

I try very hard not to live my life by should-haves, would-haves, could-haves, so this is a bit disconcerting, though thankfully the should-haves aren’t yelling too loud.  What I’ve noticed about myself is that if I’m busy I do indeed get more done.  If my day is pretty scheduled out and it’s fairly routine, I like it.  So I’m actually looking forward to this wonderful craziness I’m purposefully choosing to step into with my arms wide open and my heart too.

I love writing and the more I do it, the more I realize how much I love it.  So thank you for sharing with me these wonderful blogs of mine, I truly, truly from the bottom of my bottomless heart thank you all.

Now, it’s your turn.  What’s your next big adventure?  Another adventure I’m choosing is to be more aware of my money, of how I treat it, think about it (or don’t), how often I send it love and the energy to grow….  Maybe your next adventure is riding a really big wave, writing the first word of the 50,000 for NaNoWriMo.  Maybe it’s finally cleaning out the garage, or closet, or wallet, or egad! your underwear drawer and finally, finally letting go of your favorite panties or bra that really should have been put to rest ages ago… but they are just so damn comfortable.

Whatever your next adventure is, be kind to yourself with the hills and valleys, remember there will be unexpected twists and turns (though if you stay awake, the road signs will guide you and give you a heads-up as to what’s just around the bend.)

Enjoy the ride, baby!

Here’s to all of our next big adventures—no matter how small, life is huge:)

Love and Light, Grace and Ease.

Blessings,

Shannon
