It’s the little things in life…

Hello My Beauties,

It’s the little things in life that add up to make your day ~ if you are open to accepting their gifts.  Here are just a few of the little things that make mine…

I love to write letters.  Papyrus’ cards happen to be my favorite—they are works of art and so I feel as if I’m giving an extra special something rather than just a, ‘Hi! How are you doing?’  Sending these beautiful creations fills me with childlike glee that my big girl self relishes.  Writing letters is one of the little things in life I choose to make a priority because I know how I feel when I open my PO Box and there’s a hand written letter addressed to me—I’m a princess for the day.

Just the other day was a ‘princess’ day for me.  I have the distinct pleasure of being an honorary Auntie and one of the little munchkins is now old enough she can write her own letters, so she painted me a beautiful postcard of tulips and wrote on the back, “Hi Shannon.  I love you!” all by herself and then her rockin’ Mama mailed it to me.  Imagine my delight when I received so much love from someone that makes my heart sparkle.

Later that same week, my Gorgeous Beautiful Man, came home from a trip, with groceries, and two bouquets of my favorite flowers, Tuberose and Lilies, just because.

How about walking on my property and looking down at the rock strewn road and seeing a heart rock—in my mind a reminder of the love the Universe has for all of us.

Or attending a Celebration of Life and having it rain, only to have the rain dissipate as the airplane flew overhead releasing his ashes, a rainbow shimmering in the distance.

Or the realization that you love what you are doing so much, who you are doing it with so much, you would spend time with them for free—the job has become your passion.

Then there is a dear friend letting go of an old addiction.

A new friend finding the strength to get healthy and stop self-sabotaging.

Embracing Daylight Savings Time when you sooo valued and appreciated waking up in bed as the sunrise burst through your window with all its subtle beauty and vibrant grace.

To having a card addressed to you that says, “Friendship doubles our joy and divides our troubles” ( and laughing until you cried remembering all the ‘trouble’ you did get into together.  And the ‘trouble’ you most definitely will make together in the very near future.

To walking alone along my driveway, dragging the trash can and green waste can back to the house and realizing that life is sooo damn good and that you are sooo damn thankful to be here.

Pulling a Truthbomb (Thank you sooo much Danielle La Porte!!!  You can find her at that is just oh, so, right—“Absolutely everything is progress.”

And listening to and really getting that there are like minded souls out there, that you aren’t alone, and that yes, you can be your own guru AND if you need/want help/direction, all you have to do is ask.

And to reigniting my passion for the day-in and day-out of my life, to rejoicing in the routine, and embracing the new with grace and ease and wonder….

We get so caught up in the minutia of the day, the week, the month, the years… it’s a good idea, a necessity actually, to pause every now and then and take stock of where you are, where you would like to be, and think about the baby steps and the faith that will get you there.

Being grateful in the ‘here and now’ makes the journey to ‘there’ so much more glorious.  And it’s certainly the little things I do my best to notice, to pause and say, ‘thank you thank you thank you’ that make my journey to ‘there’ oh, so f***ing lovely.

I want to thank each and every one of you for being my friend, for loving me, for participating in this journey called Life, and sharing all the little things that make Life sooo very precious.

So, my Beauties, what are the little things in your life that make you sigh in contentment, bask in gratitude, and know that things are good and can only get better?

Here’s to all the little things we hold dear!

Love and Light, Grace and Ease.
